A little help, close by

Let’s get you
back to your list.

Help for AnxietyTODO, the small todo app in your Mac menu bar. Requires macOS 13 or later.

Where is the app?

Look for the checkmark on the right side of your Mac menu bar. Click it to open your list. AnxietyTODO doesn’t have a Dock icon or a separate Settings window. Its settings live in the gear menu inside the list.

If your menu bar is crowded, temporarily hide other menu-bar items. Opening AnxietyTODO again will also show its popover.

Add and organize tasks

Undo and Done

The Undo button, ⌘Z, and the right-click menu on the menu-bar icon reverse the most recent supported change. Undo is one level, not a complete history. A newer unsupported action or quitting the app clears it.

Open the Done menu to show or hide completed tasks. Click a completed checkbox to restore its task. Delete Done clears completed tasks in the current list.

Local deletions can be undone. Deleting a task or list in Reminders mode also deletes it from Apple Reminders and its synced devices. Those deletions require confirmation and cannot be undone in AnxietyTODO.

Connect Apple Reminders, if you want to

Choose the gear menu → Sync with Apple Reminders. Select whether to import your local tasks, then approve macOS permission. AnxietyTODO displays your editable Reminders lists; their existing accounts handle synchronization with your other devices.

Changes refresh automatically. Choose Refresh Apple Reminders in the gear menu for a manual refresh.

If access was denied

You can keep using local mode. To change permission later, open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Reminders and enable AnxietyTODO.

Return to local mode

Choose Use On My Mac to return to the local tasks preserved before you enabled sync. Switching modes doesn’t automatically copy subsequent changes between the two stores. Switching back doesn’t delete reminders or revoke permission.

Launch at login and quit

Toggle Launch at Login in the gear menu. If macOS asks for approval, review the app in System Settings’ login-item controls.

To quit, right-click the menu-bar icon and choose Quit AnxietyTODO.
